Aikijutsu

This art is for adults only and is taught Mondays and Thursdays from 7:30 - 9:00 pm.

Aikijutsu (Eye-key-jute-sue) is one of the distinct methods of Jujutsu that utilizes the inner energy of Ki to add to its effectiveness in this system of self-defense.

Aikijutsu is derived from Japenese warrior arts, with a humane approach in subuing an attacker.

The name Aikijutsu means "the art of spiritual harmony." It is a discipline of coordination, a way of strengthening the mind and body, of fusing the individual's physical and mental powers so that he or she will emerge as a more fully integrated human being.

There are no attacks in this art. The course of study will take the student from basic circular defensive moves popularized in Aikido, to the more advanced limb controlling techniques and throws required for an effective approach to self-defense.

Instruction in Aiki-Jo is also available.

Weapons Classes

Weapons are formally taught on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Weapons are also taught in many of the family classes.
